Book Our Garifuna Traveling Museum
The Garífuna Traveling Museum offers an immersive educational experience that brings Garífuna history, culture, and language directly to your institution. Our exhibit features authentic Garífuna artifacts and a historical narrative tracing the Garífuna people’s journey from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to Port Royal, Roatán, Honduras.
In addition to cultural history, the Garífuna American Heritage Foundation United (GAHFU) is committed to preserving and revitalizing the Garífuna language, which is currently at risk of extinction. As part of the museum experience, we promote the use of our Garífuna Language Workbook—designed for both native speakers and non-speakers interested in learning to read and write the language.
The traveling museum also includes traditional musical and cultural instruments such as Garífuna drums, turtle shells, maracas, and the conch shell, allowing participants to engage directly with the living traditions of the Garífuna people.
This interactive exhibit supports curriculum enrichment, cultural awareness, and community education across academic and public institutions.

Yowbaby Punta Rock Band Introducing one of the youngest and most talented group of young men and women musicians some of them born in the United States and some were born in Belize Central America. Yowbaby Band came on the scene during their first professional gig putting an outstanding performance at Casa Honduras during the Guatemalan Garífuna National Day celebration in Los Angeles in November of 2024. TyTy Garcia, co-owner and lead singer, was the recipient of the City of Los Angeles Certificate of Recognition for her work in promoting the Garifuna Culture and Music. The band plays a variety of music from reggae to punta, paranda, soca, and cumbia. Now, GAHFU’s Garifuna Drumming and Dancing Ensemble is made up of professional musicians such as drummers, shaker player, the Gayusa (singers), and the dancers.
